Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC)

  HPMC is odorless, odorless and non-toxic cellulose ether products. It is white powder with good water solubility. It contains water and has the properties of resistance, thickening, adhesion, dispersion, emulsification, film-forming, suspension, adsorption, gel and protection of colloidal surface activity and moisture retention.

 

  Use

It is used as thickener, dispersant, binder, excipient, oil resistant coating, filler, emulsifier and stabilizer in textile industry. Also widely used in synthetic resin, petrochemical, ceramics, paper, leather, medicine, food and cosmetics and other industries.


Applied in mortar

  1. Improve uniformity, make plastering easier coating, while improving anti vertical flow ability. Increased mobility and pumpability to improve work efficiency.

  2. High water retention, prolong the working time of the mortar, improve the working efficiency, and help the mortar to form high mechanical strength in the solidification period.

  3. Control the infiltration of air, thus eliminating the micro cracks of the coating, forming an ideal smooth surface.

 

  Applied in Putty Powder

1. Water retention: Make putty powder dry slowly, auxiliary ash calcium reaction under the action of water.

  2. Construction: cellulose has lubricating effect, can make putty powder has good construction.

  3. Thickening: Cellulose can be thickened to suspension, so that the solution to maintain uniform up and down the role of the same, anti-flow hanging.

 

  HPMC is one of the most important admixtures of tile binder. It plays the role of water retention and thickening in tile binder, regulates the rheological property of newly mixed mortar and extends the opening time of tile binder.

 


Applied in Self-leveling cement

1. Higher water retention performance can prolong the operation time of self-leveling mortar, improve the durability of mortar, increase its bond strength, has excellent wet bond performance, can reduce the ground ash.

  2. Strong compatibility, suitable for all kinds of building materials, self-leveling mortar, reduce setting time, reduce its drying shrinkage, avoid wall, ground cracking, bulging and other problems.

  3. Prevent bleeding, it can play a better role in suspension, prevent the emergence of slurry deposition and better bleeding performance.

  4. Maintain good fluidity, low viscosity of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose will not affect the fluidity of the slurry, easy construction, with good water retention performance. It can produce good surface effect after self-leveling, avoid cracking and drumming. The stable bond property of cellulose ether fully ensures good fluidity and self-leveling ability. Controlling water retention allows it to cure quickly, reducing shrinkage and cracking

 

  In the plaster series, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose mainly plays the role of water retention, thickening, lubrication and so on, at the same time has a certain retarding effect, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose solves the problem of hollow drum in the construction process, the initial strength is insufficient, may also extend the working time.

 

  In cosmetic applications, mainly used for cosmetics thickening, foaming, constant emulsification, evacuation, bonding, film formation and water retention function enhancement, high viscosity products used for thickening, low viscosity products mainly used for suspension evacuation and film formation.
